After leaving FHS, Joan attended Northeastern University and then Andover Newton Theological School, being ordianed a minister in 1984. Serving 7 years in East Longmeadow Massachusetts lead to a 4 year term as a Mission Associate for the United Church of Christ in England. That was nearly 20 years ago. Joan serves on the United Reformed Church's Mission Council, is a convenor of the National Pastoral Discipline Board and president of the local Churches Together in Britain council. A further degree was taken at Westiminster College, Cambridge. Joan met and married Monty in England and has 2 grown stepsons. We currently we live on the northeast coast of England, half way between Newcastle and the Scotish border. The weather here is a bit different from Ma., it just about never gets above 75F, but then in the winter it usually doesn't go below freezing, even at night. We don't have snow. We have short winters and summers and long springs and autumns.
