Mark Joseph Amaral

Mark Joseph Amaral, 60, of Fairhaven, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington. Strong-willed and determined, Mark fought liver disease for the past year. Born in New Bedford, a son of the late David and Pauline Ann (Pifko) Amaral, he had resided in Fairhaven for most of his life. Mr. Amaral had worked as a fisherman and for 25+ years as a proud member of the Teamsters Union, working as a delivery driver for United Liquors. Mark was a fan of Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack. He loved to sing, entertain and was always the life of the party. If there was a microphone you’d be sure to find him crooning. He enjoyed golfing, the Patriots, and camping at his little slice of heaven, Ellis Haven. A true family man, he loved spending time with the lights of his life (his daughters) Katherine and Meredith and his adorable granddaughter, Lakota. He is survived by daughters, Katherine Amaral of Fairhaven, Meredith Amaral and fiancé Joey Larder of Milford and Rachael Costa and husband Matthew of Taunton; a brother, Michael Amaral and wife Rocio of Port Isabel, TX; sisters, Marian LaMarra and husband Pasquale Jr. of Fairhaven and Maureen Amaral Gay and husband Paul of Dunstable, MA; his granddaughter, Lakota River Amaral; two nieces, Rocio Castillo and Christine Amaral and a nephew, David Amaral all of Texas.
