Steven Thomas Perry, 68, of Fairhaven, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025, in St. Luke’s Hospital, New Bedford surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Susan Jean (Kollars) Perry with whom he shared many years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late George and Shirley Griffin Perry. Steven grew up in Fairhaven and graduated from Fairhaven High School – Class of 76. Professionally, Steven took great pride in his long-standing career with Red Wing Shoe Company. Over nearly three decades of service, he built a reputation for excellence and commitment achieving “1 Million Sales” among many other accolades, before retiring in 2019 as a Territory Sales Manager.


A longtime golfer, Steven found peace on the greens and relished every opportunity to play. Over the years, he had several “holes in one” and passed on his love of the game to his children with whom he played for many years. He enjoyed watching sports, heartwarming movies, and listening to music and was always happy to make a recommendation. A long-standing member of the Livesey Club he most recently served as treasurer and enjoyed helping the community through youth sports and scholarships. Steven cultivated friends and loved ones everywhere he went. His social nature made him a beloved member of every community he touched—from his hometown roots in Massachusetts to the Ocean Breeze community in Florida where he spent cherished time among friends.

In addition to his one true love Susan, Steven is survived by his children Jessica Burke and her husband Peter, Craig and Kendra Perry, and Katie Leblue and her husband Jakob; his grandchildren Brendan, Grace, Jack, Koby, Avalynn, Natalie and Emerie, his siblings Susan Davis and her husband Alan, Michael Perry and his wife Sharon, Sandra Balthazar and her husband Kenneth and Carol Dube and her husband Ernest; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Steven was welcoming to all throughout his life and lived his values of family first, kindness to all, hard work and having an open heart and mind. His legacy lives on not only through his children and grandchildren, and many others who viewed him as a father and grandfather, but also through the countless lives he impacted with kindness, humor, guidance and unwavering support.

Calling hours are Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 4-7PM in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11AM in St Joseph Church, 74 Spring St. Fairhaven followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven.
