Raymond P. Galary

FAIRHAVEN — Raymond P. Galary, of Fairhaven, passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 30, 2016 at the age of 58. He was the son of the late Boleslaw “Bill’ Galary and Theresa (Morris) Galary of Fairhaven. Raymond was born in New Bedford and moved to Fairhaven at age two. He attended Fairhaven schools, played drums with the Fairhaven High Band and was on the Fairhaven High Hockey team. He was inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame. Raymond was employed by Electric Boat in Rhode Island for 15 years as a X-ray Welder on their submarines. He also worked for over 23 years as a Welder and manager of the boat yard at Marine Hydraulics. Raymond is survived by his mother Theresa (Morris) Galary and his long time loving companion Margaret Barrett of Fairhaven; two sons, Justin Galary and Jacob Galary and his wife Kendra all of Fairhaven; a brother, William Galary and his wife Ruth of Fairhaven; his nephew Jason Galary and his wife Stephanie of Rochester; he leaves two precious grandsons, Bentley and Declan Galary of Fairhaven and one beautiful grandniece Mia Galary of Rochester; several cousins and one special cousin Louise Texeira and her husband Jose of Acushnet; one uncle, John Morris and his wife Evangeline of So. Dartmouth. Raymond loved the Bruins and Patriots but most of all spending holidays and birthdays with his loving family and spending his summers in his trailer at Horseneck Beach in Westport. Raymond was a person that always put everyone first before himself. He was a loving person and will be sorely missed. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7pm in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven. His funeral service will be held Friday, October 7, 2016 at 10:30am in the funeral home followed by interment in River-Side Cemetery, Fairhaven.
