CONCORD, NC Steven Rodrigues, 51, of Concord, North Carolina, formerly of Fairhaven, passed away Monday, January 28th, after a battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Darlene (York) Rodrigues. Born in New Bedford, the first son of Raymond and Theodora (Quirk) Rodrigues. He lived in Fairhaven most of his life before moving to North Carolina. He worked on a Naval Base as a foreman of an electrician crew. He enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, fishing, watching his Patriots and listening to music. "Stevie" was a stand out football player in his younger years at Fairhaven High before injuring his knee. Survivors include his wife, Darlene (York) Rodrigues; son, Neil and his wife, Marilu; parents, Raymond Rodrigues, Theodora "Tillie" (Quirk); sisters, Sheila-Rae (Rodrigues) Dlugosinski, Sandra (Rodrigues) Kuczewski, Kathy Leonard; brothers, Garry Rodrigues, Paul Rodrigues; grandkids Trace, Sabrina and Brady Rodrigues. He also had many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was the brother of the late David Rodrigues. All friends and family can attend the Mass being held in his honor at St. Joseph Church on Spring St., in Fairhaven Monday at 10:00 am. There will also be a gathering for family and friends at the Town Crier in North Fairhaven following the Mass. Published in the Standard-Times on 2/1/2008.
